I’ll start by saying the Babymoov Cosydream is literally my number one baby purchase and was the best money I spent during the first year of our daughter’s life.
Not only did it help us bedshare safely (although I don’t believe this is its intended use) it was also super affordable and easy to clean. It is literally the best baby product I purchased and I would recommend it to anyone – although it was a little uniquely suitable for our specific needs.
What is the Babymoov Cosydream?
The Babymoov Cosydream is a sort of cushion that cuddles your baby. Yes, I know it sounds stupid but it’s really cool. It has a cushion around the head and then there’s a tube of cushion that you put under their bums. It sounds odd when I explain it but here’s a picture so it’s clearer.
What makes the Babymoov Cosydream good?
The bit around the head it high enough to make baby feel comforted but it’s not so high as to risk any suffocation or anything. Even when my daughter had her head entirely to one side, her nose wasn’t at all obstructed.
The bum cuddler (lol) comes off and is attached with velcro at either end so it can adjust as your baby gets longer.
Anything that makes the Babymoov Cosydream bad?
It’s not the most washable of things. We did wash it several times but it gradually became more bobbly and if it were to have been washed loads it probably would lose it’s shape. However, it’s so cheap that I can’t see that that’s a big deal – and to be honest, our daughter used it for around 8 months and we only needed to wash it maybe 10 times, so call it once a month.
Aren’t “sleep positioners” dangerous?
I wouldn’t class the Babymoov cosydream as a sleep positioner. It’s a
cushion and it’s designed very well. It’s not a
nest as it’s super flat compared to other nest type cushions.
Now, this is a controversial topic and some people really don’t like using sleep positioners or any kind of cushions or whatever. My opinion is that common sense rules and if you asses the risks you can make a sensible decision yourself as to whether something is dangerous or not. We stopped using the cosydream as soon as our daughter could roll well. This was because she just kept rolling off the cushion and on to me! We co-sleep and she’s right next to me so as she got older and more and more aware of things, she liked to snuggle.
Overall Opinion of the Babymoov Cosydream
This thing was a life saver. I was wary about cosleeping and this thing meant I could safely have my little one in bed with me. Don’t get me wrong – this isn’t designed for that and it’s not what everyone will use it for but it was perfect for this for me.
It’s designed to support the head and reduce flathead, it’s made of memory foam for optimum comfort, it’s made with a breathable fabric and is literally the best money we spent in the first year of our daughters life. I’d highly recommend it.
